Check the water meter impeller to confirm a leak, then shut off the backflow valve to determine if the breach is located before or after the assembly.
Remove the backflow, attach the blowout tool, and apply 60 PSI of air to pinpoint main line leaks by listening for escaping air, capping rotors, or using smoke emitters.
Save hundreds of dollars by doing it yourself. Shut off the master valve, relieve pressure via the test cocks, and safely remove the backflow assembly for indoor winter storage.
Attach The Blowout to the outlet union and connect your air compressor. Run air through each zone manually until the nozzles mist, repeating until the system is fully drained.

Mount The Blowout directly onto the outlet union and verify proper fit and alignment.
Line Pressurization
Slowly introduce air into the irrigation line and allow the system to pressurize. Verify that all connections are secure and the system is holding the desired pressure before beginning the blowout or leak-detection process.
Purge & Verification
Blow irrigation lines clean and dry, removing residual water that can freeze and cause costly winter damage. For leak detection, maintain pressure and inspect the system for pressure loss or signs of a leak. Once the system has been verified, safely release the remaining pressure before disconnecting The Blowout.

There are 3 major makers of PVC unions: Lasko, Apollo and Spears. Be sure to select the correct brand of union for your application. PVC unions from different manufacturers are not interchangeable, even if they are the same pipe size. Most fit issues come down to a size or material mismatch, not a defect. Contact us directly if the problem persists.
